About the 737 area code
737 is Austin’s overlay code. The city and its suburbs — Round Rock, Cedar Park, Georgetown, Pflugerville, and the rest of the 512 footprint — ran out of 512 numbers as the metro exploded. 737 entered service in 2013. New wireless lines and many new businesses now show 737 even when they sit on the same streets as older 512 customers.
